A Númenórean queen, the neglected wife of Tar-Aldarion (UT/173-217). Her name might be a Quenya compound of er “one, alone” and indis “wife, bride”, perhaps meaning “*Lonely Bride”. The name of her mother (Núneth) and father (Beregar) appear to be Sindarin, however, so her name could have meaning in that language, perhaps aran “king” + (n)dîs “bride”, becoming Erendis via i-affection; hat-tip to Parmandil for this suggestion.
