A hypothetical early root that could serve as the basis for Gnomish words like G. dultha- “to dine” and dulwen “feast” (GL/31). Given the later root ᴹ√(N)DUL “hide, conceal” (Ety/DUL), it probably did not survive in Tolkien’s later writing.
