ᴹ√REP root. “bend, hook”
A root in The Etymologies of the 1930s glossed “bend, hook” with a single derivative ᴹQ. rempa “crooked, hooked” (Ety/REP). The root was initially writing as ᴹ√REK as a variant of ᴹ√RIKH, but this was rejected (EtyAC/REP).
