Possibly a precursor to
Hisilóme appearing in the
Qenya Lexicon and
Poetic and Mythological Words of Eldarissa from the 1910s (QL/40, PME/40), although there it was said that it was “also used indefinitely of the West”. It is apparently
a combination of
híse “dusk” and
nan “land”.
