G. gumlaith n. “weariness of spirit, depression, grief” (Category: Grief, Sorrow)
A noun in the Gnomish Lexicon of the 1910s appearing as G. gumlaith “weariness of spirit, depression, grief”, a combination of G. gûm “burden” and G. blaith “spirit” (GL/43).
Neo-Sindarin: For purposes of Neo-Sindarin, I update this word to ᴺS. faegol “depression, grief” using the later words fae “spirit” and caul “burden, affliction”. Earlier versions of this lexicon had faergol using faer “spirit” instead, but Elaran pointed out that the combination aerg is problematic in a private Discord conversation in 2026.
